Published 28th November 2012

A great big Crafty Thank you arrived at KNS this week, in the form of fabric and treats from Melanie at IKEA Milton Keynes.

Look at the colours!

I am sorry to those who missed this weeks KNS as we warmed the non alcoholic Glog and enjoying some whilst stitching and tucking into Eleanor's gorgeous cinnamon and sugar topped scones and Barbara's glorious lemon drizzle cake.

A note from Melanie
Thank you so much for all your support during our 25 year celebration.
Our FAMILY members enjoyed themselves immensley! I really hope that we can do this again in the future. Please accept a small token of appreciation in the form of some swedish Christmas treats & various fabric cuttings to help you get your "craft on".
Thank you again!

Whilst we enjoyed working on our projects, tonight there was a glimmer of sparkly wire crochet going on! Sam has started the Shoe tree, Sandra is working on a latch hook kit whilst she waits for more supplies to finish her Nutmeg Co 3D Christmas Tree. Our junior stitchers worked hard on their friendship bracelets. Sue continues with her patchwork hearts in a beautiful black patterned fabric from Ikea. I have to say the purple sparkly snowflake dress is coming along, I'm knitting too!

I hear great things about Elaine's new premises for the Knitting Basket in Fenny Stratford, dont forget everyone that Elaine has moved around the corner and so is now opposite Pollards. Sally at Threads and Patches is doors away, so get down there and enjoy a cuppa upstairs in Threads whilst your there.

This week we had a shiny new copy of Cross Stitch Crazy to paw over, some lovely Christmas charts and idea's. We all had a round of applause to see KNS in the club directory at the back, the only one listed in Buckinghamshire. We can't be surely?
And in other exciting news, Humphries Corner called and about to launch an exciting new range of products.........Watch this space!

Sharon Scothern's Patchwork hearts

Published on 19th November 2012

Fabric, fabric everywhere! Sharon Scothern's Patchwork heart demonstration went down a storm this evening, we barely had time for the staple cake and tea. The iron was hot, the needles were ready and the mountain of fabric and wadding were waiting to be transformed.

Sharon Scothern's beautiful Patchwork hearts

KNS saw lots of new members join us for the evening session, everyone had a go making a heart and Christmas has finally creaped in to join us. There was some gorgeous fabric samples from Laura Ashley, John Lewis and Ikea spread amongst our members.

Sharon mingled between us, always on hand to guide our light stitches and smooth our confused brows. Sharon was the first artisan to grace us with her technique and inspiring idea's, which has proved to be a roaring success.

KNS will be looking for other artists and creative members to share their talents, to create a programme of demonstrations for the new year. If you are interested in coming along to the group to show us your craft passion, please email Sarah Gates on kns@buckspoint.org.uk.

All of us at KNS would like to thank Sharon for her time, creativity and inspiration that she shared with us this evening. A BIG thank you!

Meanwhile back to our fantastic evening of patchwork, some beautiful finished articles arrived!
Look at the beautiful applique owl Lucy finished!

Our Christmas Meal has been organised for Monday 17th December at the Wolverton House Carvery, if you would like to join us please book with Sandra Williams and deposits required are £5.00 per head. Three course meal is £7.99 in total.

This week at Knit, Natter and Stitch preparations race ahead for our demonstration evening next week; shopping lists for fabric have been issued so we are all ready for Sharon Scothern and her patchwork heart demonstration on 19th November. Excited much!

Amongst lashings of coffee cake, oat biscuits and copious amounts of tea; some beautiful projects are happening. Sue is working on another gorgeous applique cushion following our Ikea demonstrations. Izzy is working on some crochet flowers. Laura one of our newest members from Wolverton made her first cuts for the den build and the sound of furious clicking from knitting needles accompanied our resident beader Jennifer, her beadwork is exquisite.

Big knitting - have you tried knitting with large needles?
