Happy Holidays

Published on 27th December 2012

The holidays are upon us and our last session of stitching for the year was full of laughter!
Eleanor brought along her rag rugging wreath full of gorgeous texture and shades of green, creating a full and beautiful display which grew quickly through the evening.Using a bit of a mail bag and scraps of fabric, Eleanor worked on this festive design during the evening.

We enjoyed our hot drinks and cake admiring everyone's projects and having a good giggle.
Jennifer's nimble fingers worked lightly over this sparkling plum bauble, beading a delicate gold and ameythest jacket to hang around the top.

Sandra picked up this Fairy kit at the Knitting & Stitching show in October. The black aida is already being transformed to show shades of grey and white - at the speed she works it will probably be finished when we return on 7th January! How does she get her stitches so neat?

Sam's knitted elephant popped in to have some features stitched on, there were some giggles amongst the girls at the shape of Mr Elephants trunk - poor chap.
Barbara spent the evening converting these festive tights into children's stockings, ready for Santa for come and fill them with chocolates and toys.

Sue Myhill makes a start on the #imapiece project... watch this space for more information about planned sessions for this Save the Children project.

Following our last stitching session for the Christmas break, we met for a Christmas dinner at Wolverton House Carvery on Monday 17th December. We all enjoyed a festive evening with drinks, three course carvery dinner and giggles! Thank you to everyone of you that made up our party of 18 - A fabulous evening was had by all.

December has well and truly arrived, bringing sparkling frost's and yuletide excitement in it's wake. Never was it's chill felt more keenly than at the KNS headquarters last night! Broken heaters meant the only warmth to aid our stitching came from glowing friendship's and humorous chat. It was a hardened bunch who braved the cold last night and we at KNS salute you all.
No Sarah last night as the poorly epidemic has visited her premises, so Sandra and I took the helm. Amazing cake was provided by Jennifer and Leah, enjoyed by all. Our lovely new girl Lauren bought us a radiator, and made a very cute felt tree, and we had the usual epic mix of craft keeping stitchers busy. We all admired Sandra's new cross stitch chart and cant wait to see it go into action as it's amazing. Big welcome back to the lovely Isobel who's cherries are photographed below for you delectation. My fav of the night though had to be seeing another of my Ikea demo kits being thoroughly enjoyed and turned into multiple cushions. That Owls getting about!.

Just a little reminder next week is our last of the year in the community centre as the 17th is our Christmas meal at the Wolverton House Carvery.

Big love and keep stitching, Sue x
