Is Green really our colour?
Could Creed Street be our spiritual home? This evening KNS tested out Creed Street Theatre and Art Centre's Green Room....
Tonight we set up home in the upstairs Green Room at Creed Street, for one night only.
It was all about the Charity Crochet projects tonight, Pat and Eleanor have been busy pulling together patterns and inspiring designs of flowers for our next KNS Charity Stitch project... The Crochet bug has definately hit at KNS, Pat spent the evening working her magic with this gorgeous lilac yarn and teaching me how to read a crochet pattern - talk about multitasking!
Lesley fell in love with the crochet bunting and had to have a go! I can't wait to see how it turns out?
Sam brought along a wedding sampler to finish for a friend, that is very special and sentimental for one happy couple this August. Sandra is so close to finishing her Cross Stitch Fairy, I can see it appearing back from Creative Framing before you know it.
Thank you to all those KNS fans who popped in with their projects this evening, the company was as scrummy as the cake! We're back next Monday at New Bradwell Community Centre - See you all there x

Crochet Relief efforts raise cash for Red Nose Day 2013
Crochet Relief raises £78.02 for the Red Nose Day Cause!
On Monday 11th March we left our crafting at home and picked up our hooks, in aid of a great cause. For Red Nose Day KNS welcomed lots of enthusiastic new faces and with the help of the Crochet Relief Kits of instructions, red yarn and goggly eyes we got to it.
We have received lots of enquiries about learning to crochet over the past few months and during the evening we had experienced members of the KNS clan on hand to demonstrate basic stitches to get the beginners started. Our task was to create a crochet round and use googly eyes, wadding, felt and pin backs to create our very own red nose. All entry fee's of £2.50 per person, proceeds from kit and cake sales went straight to Comic Relief.
I loved Anne's wonderful case of metalic coloured crochet hooks, Anne came along prepared and was the envy of all. We treated the wonderful Izzy to a bottle of bubbles in celebration of her recent engagement - you should see that dazzler on her finger? well done Ilja, you have impecable taste.
No KNS event would be without lots of homemade cake! On Monday we were in cake heaven, there was no shortage of scrummy offerings on the cake bake sale table, Blueberry muffins, Toffee kisses, lemon and ricotta cookies, shrimp sweet cupcakes and more!
KNS should be so very proud of the generous amount we raised during the evening - Thank you.
We have enjoyed two popular events over the past few weeks, now we look forwards, and on Monday we will be running our KNS session from the Green Room at Creed Street Art Centre. This is a trial as many members have been concerned about the temperature in the community centre. Please come along Monday, I welcome your feedback. I feel that a move to Creed will provide us with support and many options to grow this community group further.
Your Stitch club needs you!
On Wednesday 27th March there will be a committee meeting at Jennifers house (see me directly for details), we are looking to increase the committee numbers. We need members imput on the growth of the club, come and have your say, give your idea's, what do you want to see each week?
The meeting starts at 8pm.
Happy Stitching
Love

Well, that's the announcements over with......what happened Monday? Well, like I say it was a gorgeous chilled out evening with some lovely projects on the tables. A big shout out for Jazz and Kath our youngest members who are doing so well making there own felt Red Noses to sell at the Radcliffe school and locally. Last I looked those enterprising girls had already raised £75 for Comic relief and are on track to raise much more. As a group we are very proud of them.
Judy Gale bought along some lovely work she is doing for her City and Guilds. We are all very impressed ...
Jennifer who has recently completed a beading course bought these pretty little starbursts....
I was very impressed with Sarah's beautiful scarf . Interesting to see it come together so quickly with this clever hole punched ribbon stuff..And the finished result was as beautiful as our lovely Sarah...
All in all it was a lovely evening with great cake and good gossip...
And if anyone try's to tell you that needlework is old fashioned and not fun, we will get someone younger to tell you different.
Well, I fear by now this is a far to long blog. Looking forward to seeing you all very soon KNS fans.
Big Love
Sue x
