Everyone arrived with lots of inspiration for new projects for the coming year, and lots of great things are being started. ...So, whats going on then?
First things first. This January Sarah and I are taking part in the brilliant craftivist jigsaw project. We really hope that some of you wonderful ladies will join us in our quest. In aid of Save The Children we are making jigsaw pieces embroidered with phrases that make people think again about world hunger and ponder how they can indeed be part of the solution. We will make 3 pieces each, one to be sent off to Save The Children who are using them to create a huge art installation, One to our local MP, and one to keep. If you would like to join in please speak to me or Sarah at group and we have all the details templates and info. And it can also be found at the following link .. #imapiece .
Something else in the footing to brighten the cold dark days of January... PAY IT FORWARD!! A beautiful Idea from Facebook. Now, On facebook it works like this, you post the pay it forward status, make something, or bake something, or draw something etc for the first five folk to replay, and they post the status and do the same. Obviously at KNS we need to work that differently. So... I will be bringing a kilner jar, into which we will place all the names of KNS regulars. If the mood takes you, pick a name, make away. Almost like a secret Santa. It does not have to be big or expensive, feel free to use the material stashes to help you, and you never know, you may just lift someones week. This will be ongoing through the year. The above pic is the first Pay It Forward gift to be given from me to Sandra.
Now as for the rest of Monday. Lots of great stuff was getting created. It was brilliant to welcome lovely Emma Harmer back to the fold now new baby Ollie settled enough to be left with Daddy. Emma is making a lovely photo memory book. Isobel continues to crochet and admits its quite an addiction, leaving me to wonder if our next project should be setting up a rehab clinic? Sam (above) has started some very pretty cross stitch. Sarah was struggling on with Rudolf who she now says maybe an Easter gift, you cant say that's not original. Now, If you were there crafting and I have not mentioned you in this list please accept my apologies. This is due to my memory failing me after a long week with my eldest daughter Jazz (a fellow KNSer) who was admitted to hospital over night on weds. Thankfully all is well and Jazz is back to her awesome little self.
Now, the only other thing on my agenda here now is to blow my own trumpet. Some of you may already know, over Christmas I actually knitted a scarf. I am very proud of this being that its the only thing I ever knitted to completion. I love my scarf, its warm as toast, and seemingly finished just in time for all this forecast snow. So, have a great week stitchers, and stay safe in any snowfall. We at KNS prescribe crafting under a duvet to sit out snowpocalypse. Keep your eyes open for any cancellation because of snow, news on the website and on our facebook page KNS Facebook.
Big Love Folk.
